Nine World Class Companies Sign MOUs for US$ 300 Million Project in Meikarta, Establishing Meikarta As an International Center

  1. Lippo, a national business group, today signed MOUs with nine leading global Logistics and Fintech companies from USA, UK, Singapore and China. The Total investment was valued at US$ 300 million. This is further proof that Lippo has successfully established Meikarta as an attractive place for investment and business collaborations.
     
  2. These collaborations are an effort to create a science and technology zones wherein Meikarta will be able assist to improve the quality of human resources of the country and in turn support and boost the country's sustainable economic growth.
     
  3. Meikarta is a manifestation of Lippo Group's continuing commitment to develop five pillars of development, namely Innovative Infrastructure & Transportation, High Tech CBD & Research Hub, Business & Commercial Hub, Green Sustainable Living, and Center for the Arts, Culture & Education.
     
  4. This Lippo's development plan has received numerous positive responses from various global institutions, which engaged in Education, Medical & Health Care, Science & Innovation, Finance Technology and Logistics.

  6. Going forward, Meikarta will continue to collaborate with various parties, in an effort to make Meikarta a New City having complete facilities for the needs of its inhabitants, and making Meikarta become a modern city.
     
  7. For the implementation of cooperation with these institutions, 273,000 sqm area in Meikarta will be developed to be the center of education, research, health, logistics and others.
     
  8. Meikarta will be developed with world-class infrastructures and facilities, including:

    1. Seven shopping malls, and commercial retail spaces with a total area of 1,500,000 sqm
    2. International Hospitals and Health Center
    3. International Financial Center
    4. Ten five-star International hotels

  9. Meikarta located strategically in the Eastern Corridor Jakarta, has become the center of attention of central government, with the development of infrastructures such as :

    1. The Jakarta - Bekasi - Cikarang-Bandung fast train with an investment of Rp 65 trillion
    2. The development of Patimban Deep Seaport worth Rp40trillion
    3. The construction of the new airport 'Kertajati International Airport' worth Rp 23 trillion
    4. The development of APM Monorail which connects seven industrial cities surrounding Meikarta
    5. The construction of Jakarta - Cikampek Elevated Highway worth Rp 16 trillion
       
  10. The first phase of Meikarta development covering 22,000,000 sqm was planned in 2014. The physical work in Meikarta started in January 2016 with the construction of up to one hundred skyscraper buildings, each ranging from 35 to 46 floors. The total number of workers, which will reach 65,000 people, is a form of jobs creation in itself. The site conditions indicate the dynamism of a development similar to Shenzhen's early development.

Ketut Budi Wijaya, President of Meikarta, stated "This collaboration is further proof of the world's positive responses to the concept of Meikarta. In the future, apart from being a residential area, Meikarta will also serve as an education and research center. What Meikarta is doing today, are the first steps to realize Meikarta into a new modern city. Physical development in Meikarta continues to progress, and to date, there are already several towers being built, which have reached several floors."
